Kiri Faul, Ph.D.

Licensed Psychologist

 Owner

Dr. Kiri A. Faul is the Founder and Owner of Faul Psychological. She earned her Ph.D. in psychology from the University of North Dakota in 2006. Since 2008, her primary specialty has been working as a Police and Public Safety Psychologist, conducting thousands of Pre-employment Evaluations, Leadership & Management Assessments, Fitness-for-Duty Evaluations, and Independent Psychological Evaluations. She also provides mental health and wellness services to public safety agencies. Dr. Faul’s special interests relate to PTSD and trauma stress responses, and maintaining and returning personnel to fitness for duty. She is an active member of the IACP-PPSS , having served as a member of its Education Committee for the annual IACP conference for numerous years. In addition to Police and Public Safety, she historically provided evaluations in the areas of Social Security Disability, VA disability, and family court.

Philip Sarff, Ph.D.

Licensed Psychologist

Dr. Sarff graduated with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Graduate School of Psychology, Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. He spent his early career involved in a rehabilitation setting and has had an interest in various aspects of psychological assessment since the beginning of his career. He continues his career in assessment and consultative work in a variety of contexts, including vocational rehabilitation, disability determination, independent medical examinations, fitness-for-duty examinations, and pre-employment screening assessments for public safety professionals. He has experience determining functional impacts of neurodevelopmental, neuropsychological, emotional, and personality disorders.

April Leaveck, Psy.D.

Licensed Psychologist

Dr. April Leaveck earned her doctorate in psychology from Central Michigan University in 1994. She began her professional career as a psychologist with Scott County Mental Health Center before beginning her career in 2003 as a police and public safety psychologist. Since that time, she has worked with police and public safety agencies throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin. She has conducted thousands of psychological pre-employment evaluations, as well as numerous leadership and management assessments, for a variety of law enforcement and public safety agencies to assist in their hiring and promotional process. Dr. Leaveck has also specialized in fitness-for-duty evaluations for public safety agencies and private companies.

Kasey Aleknavicius, Psy.D.

Licensed Psychologist

Kasey Aleknavicius, PsyD, LP, graduated with a Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology Degree from APA accredited Argosy University, Orange County in 2014. She has been licensed as a psychologist since 2015. Dr. Aleknavicius has conducted a mix of pre-employment, clinical, educational, and disability assessments, and previously worked in both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings. She joined Faul Psychological in 2023 and has increased her specialization as a police and public safety psychologist. Her interests include psychopharmacology, substance abuse, and trauma and stressor-related disorders.

Carissa Brandt, Psy.D.

Licensed Psychologist

Dr. Carissa Brandt earned her doctoral degree from the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology in 2016 and has been practicing as a licensed psychologist since 2018. Her training and early career centered on psychological assessment, including forensic-based evaluations, which provided a strong foundation for her current work in pre-employment screening after joining Faul Psychological in 2025. Beyond assessment, Dr. Brandt has over a decade of experience providing therapy services across diverse settings. She has since expanded her practice to include wellness programs tailored for public safety personnel, supporting their mental health and resilience both on and off duty. Outside of her direct clinical work, Dr. Brandt enjoys her role as a clinical supervisor, mentoring masters and doctoral-level students during their professional training.
